The Perfect Internet Product

By: Chris Haycock

Well, this is something we are all looking for aren't we? OK, I suppose we need to know just what attributes the perfect product would have. I reckon they can be summed up as follows:

1) It should be precisely what the the customer wants, and is actively looking for.

2) It should be unique to you. That is that it cannot be purchased from anyone or anywhere else. This does not mean that it has to be a totally original product, as we all know there is very little left that is actually unique. It just should not be available in the exact format/style that you are offering.

3) The perceived value of the product should be a lot higher than the actual production cost. For example a manual or a course can have a mark up of anything between 500% and 1000%, even more in some cases. This way we make a nice profit. What are we in business for?

4) The product should be a quality product, and should look and feel it. Thus ensuring that your customer is happy, and confident of it's value. A quality product also has the additional benefit of reducing refunds. We don't want too many of those.

5) It should be easily deliverable, that is, not requiring special delivery, and not easily breakable or damaged in the post. Of course, downloadable products avoid all these pitfalls.

This brings us to products that should be avoided. I'm sure I don't need to say it but please stay away from anything that could be regarded as illegal or unethical. If you are selling items that you have not personally created or produced for example, you have to acquire the resale rights. These do not have to be expensive, but you are in for a heap of trouble if you don't have them. Also you should stay away from anything that could be considered in bad taste, there's loads of excellent stuff out there without straying into those realms, and you really don't want to be tarred with that brush. The comeback you are likely to get is just not worth it. Business can be tough enough without that sort of hassle. As mentioned before, avoid poor quality products. Customers can, and do, demand refunds, and your refund rate will be much higher with a rubbish product. Don't cheat people, refunds are time consuming and costly, and it will make it difficult, if not impossible for you to sell your expensive back end product at a later date. Fragile, bulky, and difficult to pack items should be stayed away from. Broken and damaged goods will also generate complaints. Heavy items will be expensive to post/deliver. Your product should be as inexpensive as possible to deliver.

A successful product is probably not going to be unique. There aren't many of those left. However, your product can stand out from the crowd as having better presentation, higher quality, and better value. It should stress the benefits to your customer. Benefits count, not features. They should be obvious to your customer, over and above anything similar offered by your competitors.

When you weigh it all up, what do you think is the perfect Internet product? Pretty obvious when you look at it isn't it? I'm sure you all know the answer. Of course. It's Information Products! They satisfy all the above criteria, and they are easily sourced or created. I'll show you how in future articles.

5 Factors of an Effective eCommerce Web Site Design

By: Abel Quitoriano

An eCommerce Web Site provides a secure Internet-based facility for transactions between a business and a customer. It can use rich media presentations to help customers in their buying decisions, provide live support for customer inquiries, take and fulfill orders, and even provide real-time tracking of deliveries for physical products. Whatever feature these eCommerce web sites may have, they have one primary purpose and that is to bring in sales for the company 24 hours a day.

Although setting up an eCommerce web site has never been easier, the bigger challenge for most businesses is to set-up an effective website that tirelessly pulls in sales for the company day in and day out. The crucial element is in the design and structure of your eCommerce web site. This will make or break your online venture. It’s like having a 200 horsepower engine but without the proper chassis, it will end up nowhere.

So, in order to ensure a good return on the time, money and skill to be invested, make sure you take these factors into account.

1. Answer the #1 Question in Your Customer’s Mind

All successful eCommerce web sites know how to answer one critical question of customers – “What’s in it for me?” Let’s face it, all customers are “me-oriented.” You, yourself, are a customer and you can attest that before you give any bit of attention to a product or service, it must first answer, “what’s in it for you?”

So if you don’t give site visitors a reason to care about your product or services, no amount of sophistication to your eCommerce site can deliver the sale.

2. Organized content

Ever been into a market place where every vendor yells at you about what they have to offer? Not only is it confusing, it’s irritating. This would also be the case if you’re trying to present all your products benefits, features, prices and promos on a single page.

So structure your content wisely. Categorize your products or services based on functionality, benefit, feature, color, or size. However it may be, always put yourself in your customer’s shoes. Organize your products/services on how you think your customer can best find and decide on what he or she is looking for.

3. Use color and images to your advantage

Colors and images inspire feelings. It’s no accident why coffee shops like Starbucks and Coffee Bean are using almost the same color tones and images. Upon entering them, you instantly feel soothed by the ambiance and the cozy chairs invite you to sit, unwind, forget the world while enjoying the warmth, aroma and taste of coffee.

In almost the same way, proper use of color and images in your eCommerce web site will set the mood for your clients to stay awhile, read, listen or watch about what your product can do for them.

4. Don’t over sell or over promise

Nothing will make a customer hold-on to his wallet and ran away faster that an infomercial sounding sales pitch. No matter how other marketers would vouch that it’s effective, don’t degrade your web site by sounding like a used car salesman.
Your website should convey a lot of credibility and prestige to gain your customers trust.

And lastly…

5. High touch vs high tech

It’s no doubt that an eCommerce web site has a lot of intricacies wired into it in order to quickly process multiple online transactions at any given time. It’s a whole lot more efficient compared to hiring a lot of sales people to handle every customer on a one-on-one basis. However, you should never use the ‘high-techness’ of your web site to impress your customers. Gone are the days when people are awestruck by technology. As a matter of fact, some are already nauseated by it.

Instead the your eCommerce web site should interact to customers the way a real person would. It should be User-intuitive where only information and functions relevant to the customer are presented to him or her.

Since people want information and they want it now, your eCommerce web site should create an impression that you can cater to their wants.

4 Astoundingly Simple Tactics That Can Increase Your Website Conversion Rate

By: Jo Han Mok

The art of website conversion, which is transforming your visitors into your customers is the problem that most Internet marketers face. People ask me,

"Is there something wrong with the sales letter or advertisement?"

"Is the design of the website affecting my sales?"

However, from what i have learnt from certain Marketing Sherpa case studies, it is just the little additions and tweaking here and there into your website that can actually increase website conversions as much as 30%.

Here are some of the tactics accomplished websites use to increase conversions:

1.Product Image

It has been proven that images play a part in making the customer judge if the product is in good condition or not. The larger the image, the better. Provide a thumbnail of our product next to your product description or advertisement. What you can do is to make sure that when your customers click on your thumbnail, they will have access to look at a larger image of the product.

If your product is a digital product, like a e-book, you can create visual graphics or an e-cover for it. Such a website to get e-covers from would be www.xwebgraphics.com. A visual graphic for an e-book or any other digital product for that matter has been known to increase website conversion rates as much as 300%!

2.Bestseller Lists

Bestsellers were known to get a lot of clicks, buy-ins and website conversion from customers. What you can do in your website is to create a column, especially on the right-hand side of the website to show customers the product or products that are selling like hotcakes.

Customers are reassured when bestsellers are shown because it tells them that a lot of people have bought the product and it gives them the impression that the product is good and value for money.

3.A-Z Listing

When you give a category of products listed under alphabetical order, they can find the product that they are looking for much more easily. Also it gives customers more variety to choose from. Let's say there are ten products listed under the letter ‘L'. By clicking on the letter 'L', they can see a variety of other products besides the ones they are looking for.

4.Product Reviews And Testimonials

For each product, you can have a list of product reviews and testimonials from other consumers who have bought the product so that your customer can decide on their purchase decision better. It is encouraged to have both negative and positive product reviews, because if you only have positive reviews for the product, customers can get skeptic when they feel that you, as a webmaster are not being truthful to them.

People normally think too much about how to increase their website conversion rates. But judging from these four simple tactics, it is really not that hard to implement them and see your website accumulate more sales.

Article Submission – The Good and Bad

By: Davion Wong

Article submission is one popular proven way to pull in website visitors. Everyone who has been marketing for a while knows that. Webmasters and affiliates, or product owners understand what it is capable of doing, and many use them either as part of their website promotion strategy or as their core traffic building technique. In this article, we would look at some pros and cons of article submission and why people either love it or hate it absolutely.

The “Good” of Article Submission

Article submission would reap you many benefits when done correctly. Take a look at what these can mean for your online business and website.

1. One-way Free, High Google Page Rank Backlinks

If you have been marketing online for a while, you should know by now that one-way backlinks are the most valuable links you can find for your website. Search engines credit a lot of weight on one-way links when determining your website importance and relevance to specific keywords and topic. Article submission brings you one-way backlinks from article directories which normally have high Google page ranks. Best of all, they are free and almost immediately. You don’t even need to spend hundreds of dollars to buy links or beg other webmasters to exchange links.

2. Attract Real Targeted Visitors

Article submission ensures that those who visit your website are real targeted visitors. Now, if your article is used to presell your website or product site, then surely those who follow the article link would be pre-qualified visitors. Trust me in this; the visitors are more ready to buy your ebook or merchandise, or to sign up for a program you are promoting.

3. Establish Yourself as An Expert

Imagine your readers found your article in the service or topic category of the article directory. It can easily qualify you as an expert. Submit more articles and very soon, people would start to recommend your articles and website. Word spreads and more traffic follows.

The “Bad” of Article Submission

1. Not Everyone Can Write Well

Let’s face it. Not everyone is good with words and writing may not be your forte. But this should not stop you from using article submission to market your website and programs. There are always writers for hire.

2. Article Submission Can Be Time-Consuming

Submitting articles to several website would not take you more than an hour. But to optimize exposure, you would need to pound on the doors of dozens to hundreds of article submission directories. Even a 5-year old knows that is going to waste his childhood years.

3. Writing Articles Require Much Research

An article is like a poster. You either love it or ignore it totally. Give your readers an excellent piece of work and they would remember you. But writing quality articles require much effort, time and research to organize the facts into a meaningful piece of information. A way to work around it is to subscribe for Private Label Rights Articles membership sites.

That more or less summarizes the gist of article submission as a marketing technique. If you are keen to copy some surefire article marketing tips, you are welcome to visit my blog. Learn also how you can overcome the trouble of submitting to hundreds of article directories effortless and achieve greater sales target.

The Truth About These One Time Offers

By: Jeffrey Solochek

You get an email about some product the marketer will sell you for only one dollar then right before you are taken to the page where you can download your product you are taken to one of these One Time offer pages. They tell you that this product on this page will only be offered to you once and that if you don't get it you will lose out forever, Right? I have had some of these OTO's in my web browser for days without me ever doing anything with them. I used to fall prey to these but after a while you learn some things about them.

I agree with the philosophy that you should not have an order page as the landing page for some product that you are selling but how many times do you have to see these OTO's before you finally grow tired of them? OTO's will eventually end up like these Free for all link pages, safelists, and everything else that has been over used.

Next time you get to one of these try bookmarking the OTO page and let's see if you can get to the page again. i bet you that almost every time you click on this bookmark that the OTO page will still come up. If these marketers would just take down the page after a certain amount of time then this would be actually a true OTO but marketers these days are taking too many shortcuts. like when you buy from a marketer but yet you still get emails from him like you have never bought anything from them before.

It might take a little more time if these marketers incorporated certain things into their marketing but in the end they would retain more customers. I have blocked some of these marketers from sending me offers because of this shortcut tactic they are using these days. I have had some of these OTO pages, because of the bookmarkingh, come up a year or more later.

The same applies to these membership sites that all these marketers are now doing. You would expect that once you stop paying for membership that you will no longer be able to get into their sites but most of the time they never clean up their Databases. i joined amembership site several years ago from this one marketer who sold his site and is no longer a marketer. The guy that bought his site has not done any maintenace to the DB because I can still get into the site.
