3 "Cheap & Ugly" (But Brutally Effective) Web Traffic Strategies For The Little Guy

By: Anthony Chan
For some of you might always think of advertising as being expensive, something we can't afford when we are just starting out. But did you know there are several ways to promote your web site that cost nothing at all? Yes, you read that right. Nothing!

In this article I am going to reveal through three methods that I have used to promote my site to get huge traffic, without paying a cent.

Create a Press Release Press release is not as hard as you may think. They can really bring in huge amount of website traffic. But you need to do them right. They need to be brief and punchy. Ensure the opening paragraph sums up the entire story. You can post press releases at Prweb which is one of the more effective ways to promote your web site or product. You, too, can send Press release to local news journals, submit it to online e-zines dealing with your subject. Remember, don't just write one release to send to all - tailor them to fit the particular publication. News of your business will soon spread.

Sell Your Product on EBay Many of us may have a perception of EBay is place for buying or selling used old product, antique or cheap product. This is totally wrong. I am sure everyone of you will crack your head asking how does eBay can bring traffic to my website ? Good question. Ebay has millions of visitors per day with their credit card in hand. They are buyer. They are not freebie seeker. If you put your own information on ebay or own report on eBay, you can sell the report low cost. I am not looking for sales here. But I am looking for visibility and awareness.

Post Comments on Other Blogs The other method for driving visitors to your site is to have a blog. The reason that blogs are so good at driving traffic is that the search engines love them because they provide fresh content, and because they are available through RSS feeds, webmasters can post your blog content on their sites which can then drive traffic to you (much like how you would get traffic from article marketing). If you are totally new to blogging, you might want to try Google’s free service Blogger.com or if you are ready to take the next step, you can move to another free service called Wordpress. Wordpress seems to be a much more effective SEO solution than blogger, but there is more to setup on your website.

The whole "traffic generation" industry is spinning out of control. Things have gotten unbelievably complex. It seems like you need a PhD. in computer engineering just to operate the latest traffic generation software.
